CV

Ariane Tanner studied history, philosophy, and science of religion in Zurich and Barcelona. She graduated (end of 2004: Master of Arts) in modern history with an interview-based MA thesis on a Viennese branch of the student movement of 1968 („The French Man and the Viennese. The World of the Group Spartakus Around 1970: An Oral-History Study”). Afterwards she worked as an assistant („Library and Finances”) at the History Department of the University of Zurich. At the same time (2005), as an employee of the Interdisciplinary Research Colloquium of the Collegium Helveticum in Zurich, she compiled a commented bibliographic database on „Emotions and History”. In the winter of 2006 she successfully applied for a „Research Grant” at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich with a project in the history of science. Since March 2007, she has been an academic assistant to the Chair of Science Studies, pursuing her PhD-project on the mathematization of biological processes by means of a historical investigation of the Lotka-Volterra-laws.
