Omar W. Nasim did his B.A. (hons.) in Philosophy from the University of Manitoba, and then a PhD in 2007 from the University of Toronto at the department of Philosophy. And Recently, Nasim has obtained the Habilitation from the ETH Zürich.

Between 2005-2006 Nasim was a Fellow of the Graduate Exchange Program of the DAAD at the University of Konstanz, Germany.  His first book was published in 2008 and is entitled, Bertrand Russell and the Edwardian Philosophers: Constructing the World, Palgrave MacMillan Press.  Beginning in 2007, Nasim started as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the project Knowledge in the Making (Wissen im Entwurf: Zeichnen und Schreiben als Verfahren des Forschung) first at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin (2007-2008), and then continued with the same fellowship at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz (MPI) (2008-2009). In this project, entitled Constructing the Heavens: Drawings of Nebulae in Victorian Science, Nasim continued to pursue his interests in construction, observation and theories of perception, but with a special focus on scientific observation’s relationship to the act of drawing and note-taking in nebular astronomy. Nasim is currently working as a Senior Research Fellow at the Chair for Science Studies (ETH Zürich) and a Member of the NCCR "Eikones" (Universität Basel).
